Our customer called us to come look at two AC units that were no longer cooling his home. Since the units were old and had kicked the bucket, our customer also wanted an estimate to replace them. We were happy to install two new Trane heat pumps to keep his house nice and cool. Both systems received a new full-size emergency drain pan, a condensate drain line safety switch into the primary drain line, a new supply and return plenum boxes with collars and dampers, new connections, and penetrations sealed. Our technician strapped up all ductwork to allow a more even airflow path. We completed start-ups for both systems and charged both systems to manufacturers' specifications. Both systems have a 10-year parts warranty, a 10-year compressor warranty, and a 2-year labor warranty. And of course, Johns Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing will cover the systems with their Money-Back Guarantee!
This customer called us to say that their A/C unit stopped blowing cold today, and that the system had shut off! We ran over to investigate, climbed onto the roof, and found out that their 30-year-old Mini-Split, Central AC Package Unit had finally kicked the bucket. RIP. We were glad to help out the customer by installing a new Goodman Heat Pump with a new stand for the unit. We installed a new electrical disconnect and ran a new electrical whip from the attic, through the roof, and to the new disconnect. We installed a surge protector into the disconnect as well, and made sure to seal all penetrations into the roof and connections to the unit. We installed a TY into the return ductwork, cut and installed a new return with a 14” flex, and installed a new Honeywell T6 thermostat. With a new Supply/Return Air Run, we lowered resistance in the ductwork to the unit, lowered noise levels, and increased airflow. This new system cools/heats faster, and provides even temperatures for our customer. Now the mourning period is over, and the celebration can begin! Like all of the systems we install, this system meets manufacturer installation requirements and has a manufacturer warranty - This system has a 10 year parts and 10 year compressor warranty. We also provide our “Installed Right” Guarantee and our Money-Back Guarantee for the first year of its performance.
Our customer called us out because their 12-year old AC system was not keeping up during the late afternoon the other day. Upon inspection, we found the air conditioner was operating but had some issues. We found that the indoor blower motor had a slight bearing play causing the blower wheel to wobble when spinning. The contactor was burnt and pitted, as well as the indoor coil had a buildup of debris and dust. The dual capacitor for the compressor was below tolerance. Due to the system’s age, current condition, the cost of repairs, the lack of warranty, and the overall unreliability, the customer agreed to move forward with a 2-stage option heat pump. To ensure efficiency we gave the unit a new stand and an insulated elbow, a new disconnect and a new Honeywell programmable thermostat. To protect efficient air flow (to reduce wear and tear on the system) we sealed all the connections and performed a complete start up and QCA test. Like all of the systems we install, this system meets manufacturer installation requirements and has a manufacturer warranty - This system has a 10 year parts and 12 year compressor warranty. We also provide our “Installed Right” Guarantee and our Money-Back Guarantee for the first year of its performance.
Customer called us out because the temperature on the thermostat was rising. Upon arrival, we found cool air being pushed from vents although the temperature in the home was higher than the set point on the thermostat. Upon inspection of the heat pump system, we found that the dual capacitor was below tolerance on the compressor side. Although we also found other issues such as condenser fan motor having oil loss and bearing play. The insulation had also fallen off the interior of the blower panel, allowing insulation to be sucked up against blower housing! Due to the systems age, current condition, cost of repairs, lack of warranty, and overall reliability, we recommended a new system and a one-year Johns HVAC maintenance agreement. We were happy to install a 2 ton Trane heat pump. We put on new 12” collars, a new disconnect with a whip, and a new p trap. We made sure to properly seal all connections and did a complete startup and quality check. This system has a 10 years parts and 10 years compressor warranty.
Our customer had three different bids to install a new unit, and chose to trust John’s with the heat pump installation! We were happy to install a new vertical Trane Heat Pump. To ensure maximum efficiency we modified the ductwork to fit the new unit, modified the platform to allow the most airflow for the new air handler, secured the filter frame to the platform, and the air handler to the filter frame. Plus we sealed all connections and penetrations and we added an electrical disconnect for the air handler to allow easy high voltage shut-off and to maintain the builders’ code. We added a condensate drain line safety switch into the primary drain line, ran new thermostat wire, and installed a new Honeywell programmable thermostat. We installed a new condenser pad for the new condenser, removed the old concrete pad, and installed a new electrical disconnect and whip for the condenser. We also ensured the drain line was properly leveled and draining. Finally, we replaced a mass of cork tape covering the line set coming out of the wall with proper metal plating. This system is charged to manufacturer's specifications and has a 10 year parts warranty and a 10 year compressor warranty.
Our customer called Johns because they were not getting cool air from their 11-year-old unit. We went over and found the system’s filter and evaporator were plugged-up, the low voltage wires frayed, and the condensation drain broken. We also found that water had flooded the inside so badly over time, it caused the bottom of the unit to be rusting out! The unit was in such bad shape the evaporator was also rusting and at risk of leaking Freon. The customer decided to have us replace their old unit with a new 3 ton 2 stage Trane Heat Pump. We added a new stand, a new P trap and PVC, and a new disconnect and whip with a surge protector. We installed a wire kit for 2 stage cooling and a cut in a 12” return before sealing all connections thoroughly. This system is covered by a 10 year warranty and backed by John’s exclusive installation guarantees.
We were called out to address a cooling issue. The customer’s system wasn’t keeping the room cool enough. We performed a thorough diagnosis and found many problems with their system, including cracked and exposed wiring, a burnt contactor, oil leaking from both indoor and outdoor motors and also the indoor coil. Due to the age of the system, lack of warranty/reliability, and the costs of repairs, the customer decided to replace the system. We were happy to install a new Trane 14 Seer Single Stage Package Heat Pump on the roof. We switched out the fuses to match the new unit, extended low volt wires, and ran a high volt whip to the new unit. We also installed a new thermostat and ran a QCA start-up and checklist. Like all of the systems we install, this system meets manufacturer installation requirements and has a manufacturer “Installed Right” Guarantee, along with our Money-Back Guarantee for the first year of its performance. All parts have a 1 year warranty, except for the compressor which has a 5 year warranty.

Due to the age, current condition, cost of repairs, lack of warranty, and overall reliability, the customer decided to replace the system. A Peak Performance Club member called because their gas furnace was not working correctly. It was the first time they turned on their heating system for the season, and it made a loud noise and would only blow cold air, so they called John’s Heating and Cooling for a furnace repair. After completing a full diagnostic, the technicians determined that the system was low on refrigerant due to the indoor coil leaking refrigerant, which also damaged the indoor coil. Due to the cost of the repairs and the overall reliability of the system, a replacement was recommended. Johns Heating and Cooling replaced the system with a new 3.0 ton package Trane 14 Seer Single Stage Package Heat Pump system on the roof. For improved comfort, safety, and peace of mind, a surge protector and programmable thermostat were also installed. The technicians did a complete QCA start up and checklist and the new system is backed by a 10 year parts, 10 year Compressor, and 2 year labor warranty on top of all of John’s Installation & Replacement Guarantees.
John’s technicians were called out for routine system maintenance and performed a 21-point deluxe inspection on a 1998 Goodman split heat pump in Mesa. During this maintenance visit, they found that the system struggled to run at peak performance due to its age, as both the outdoor fan motor and indoor fan motor were showing major indications of bearing play and oil leakage. At this time, it was recommended to the homeowner to consider replacing the air conditioner instead of investing more money into an old system that was out of warranty, and that they could save money on replacing before 2023 when price and efficiency ratings would be increasing. They decided to think about it, and ultimately scheduled a free consultation later that month. The customer did decide to take advantage of a great promotion that was running, so John’s Heating and Cooling installed a 3.5-ton Trane Heat Pump and a Honeywell Programmable Thermostat. The new system is backed by 10-year parts, 10-year Compressor, and 2-year labor warranty on top of all of John’s Installation & Replacement Guarantees.
During a routine Peak Performance Club maintenance visit for a customer who had 2 units of differing age, the technicians noted that the older system had a bad outdoor fan motor, a very burnt and pitted contactor, high start amps, and dirty, indoor coil. Due to the cost of repairs, the age of the system, and the overall reliability, they recommend updating the older system to better match the efficiency of the newer system, which would both provide more optimal comfort and reduce utility costs. The technicians at Johns replaced the older unit and installed a 2.5 ton Payne package heat pump. Included were a new 16” flex for the return and supply, a new disconnect with whip and surge protector, and a new p trap and drain line.
The technicians at John’s were scheduled to perform a 21-point maintenance inspection on a package unit in Mesa. During this time, the techs chemically washed the outdoor coil and discovered the fan motor leaking oil, the contactor burnt and high start amps. Due to the age of the system and the cost of repairs, it was recommended to consider a heat pump replacement, so they set up a free new system consultation to learn more about their replacement options. John’s Heating and Cooling installed a new 2-stage 3-ton Trane package system on the roof. The new system is backed by a 10-year parts, 10-year Compressor and 2-year labor warranty on top of all of John’s Installation & Replacement Guarantees.
