The very next day, we used a crane to install the new Trane Foundation 5 Ton Strait Cool 480 V Three Phase Package Heat Pump on the customer’s roof. We added new curb tape and new fuses before sealing all the connections thoroughly. Finally, we made sure the system booted up correctly and worked properly for the customer.     John’s Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing was called and scheduled for a demand repair service for a system that was making an unusual noise. Upon arrival, the technicians spoke with the customer about the condenser’s screeching noise and tested the system in both heating and cooling to try to reproduce odd noise. After inspecting the system, John’s followed up with customer about other recommendations concerning the system including the contactor being burnt and pitted, compressor saver running out of tolerance and no longer assisting compressor upon start up, the blower wheel being dusty and dirty reducing indoor air quality, and outdoor fan motor leaking oil and having bearing play. Due to the age of the system, high repair cost, and probability of future breakdowns, a replacement was advised, and the customer decided to set up a free consolation. The technicians at John’s replaced the system and installed a new 5-ton Trane communicating heat pump system with a Nexia 850 thermostat and a Reme Halo air purifier for extra comfort. Upon arriving, the technicians learned that the customer has had multiple repairs on their system over the years, as it was 19 years old.     A new customer to John’s Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing called for a demand repair service. They had no heat, and the system was not kicking on into heating mode from the thermostat. Upon inspection of thermostat, the technicians found that the thermostat wire was incorrectly wired to the thermostat base, so they rewired thermostat correctly, replaced the batteries, reprogrammed it, and re-secured the thermostat wire nuts at the unit that had loose connections. After getting the thermostat situated, the techs also discovered that the system had blown a fuse, so they replaced the three-amp fuses so they could continue to further run tests. Upon testing the system, they found that the dual capacitor was below tolerance on the compressor side, the contactor was severely burned and pitted, the outdoor fan motor had oil loss and severe dragging, and the electrical whip was cracked and frayed. Additionally, they found that the elbow connecting unit to the roof had cracks in the sealant around the unit, which can cause loss of efficiency and comfortability. Due to the condition of the system and the cost of repairs, it was recommended to the customer to consider a system replacement. They agreed and scheduled a new system consultation. John’s installed a 3-ton 2-stage Trane package heat pump and new Honey Well T6 thermostat. They also removed the swamp cooler, capped the roof jack and supply tap in attic, and rerouted the drain off the roof so water would drain onto the sidewalk and not the soil bed near the house at the customer’s request. The new system is backed by a 10-year parts, 10-year Compressor and 2-year labor warranty on top of all of John’s Installation & Replacement Guarantees.
